Ebonie Mullen is a self-taught mixed-media artist whose love for creativity began in childhood with paper dolls, drawing, and an endless fascination with color, texture, and design. As she grew older, she explored a variety of artistic mediums, including pencil, acrylic, and pastel, always finding herself drawn back to the creative process.

Her current body of work combines synthetic hair and acrylic paint on canvas through a distinctive process that first came to her in a dream. What appears from a distance to be paint or fiber reveals itself upon closer inspection as intricate layers of braids, twists, straight, kinky, and textured hair. Through this evolving technique, she transforms familiar materials into one-of-a-kind works that celebrate texture, perception, and the beauty of seeing things differently.
